Overview:

The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of various technologies and protocols to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and uphold the existing IT infrastructure through routine tasks such as backups, upgrades, patch management, and system monitoring.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve systemic challenges.
  • Analyze usage patterns and provide strategic recommendations for scaling the Unified Communications (UC) infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions tailored to meet specific requirements.
  • Offer recommendations for system and network architecture design.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in the Linux operating system, including scripting and familiarity with essential tools (e.g., grep, awk, tcpdump, vmstat).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VoIP/UC applications and protocols, including SIP, UDP, RTP, SDP, and TLS.
  • Moderate experience with Web Services such as REST and SOAP.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and at least one scripting language.
  • Solid understanding of protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SAML.
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies, encompassing Ethernet, VLAN, and Routing.
  • Experience with markup languages such as HTML and XML.
  • Proficient in using packet analyzers.
  • Experience with ELK and Kibana is essential.
