Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SBA Business Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for soliciting and developing loan transactions within the SBA 7(A), 504, and USDA B&I loan programs in the Pacific Northwest. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business in the Government Guaranteed Lending sector.
  • Interview prospective applicants and request specified information related to loan or credit applications.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze financial conditions and risk of financing requests.
  • Meet with existing or potential customers, visit loan sites, and negotiate loan terms and conditions.
  • Draft proposal letters and facilitate the exchange of information and documentation necessary to complete loan analyses.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SBA SOPs and other regulation manuals.
  • Coordinate with loan processors, closers, and underwriters to assist with customer needs throughout the loan transaction.
  • Contribute to the overall profitability of the department and bank by implementing cost controls, income generation, and department marketing efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven lending pipeline of at least $12MM annually.
  • Advanced experience, knowledge, and training in financial statement and tax return analysis.
  • SBA credit or underwriting experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and training in Government Guaranteed Lending.
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations.
