Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at The Heart Group Cardiovascular Associates, Inc. as a PET & MI SPECT Technologist.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using PET and MI SPECT technology to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness. This is a full-time position with a 10-hour shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform PET and MI SPECT diagnostic imaging procedures on adult patients according to department protocols.
  • Locate and record internal elements of the body, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
  • Adjust equipment and calm patients to eliminate test artifacts.
  • Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
  • Review tests with peers and physician.
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures.
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair.
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.
  • Clinical Nuclear Medicine Technologist background with a minimum of 3 years PET & MI SPECT clinical experience required.
  • CA Licensure or eligible to attain.
  • Valid ARRT (CT) required, ARRT (N) OPTIONAL.
  • NMTCB required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Professional communication skills both written and verbal needed.
    • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner.
    • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
