Diagnostic Imaging Professional

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Professional to join our team at The Heart Group Cardiovascular Associates, Inc. as a PET and SPECT Technologist.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using PET and SPECT technology to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness. This role requires a strong background in nuclear medicine technology and a minimum of 3 years of experience in PET and SPECT imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform PET and SPECT diagnostic imaging procedures on adult patients according to department protocols.
  • Locate and record internal elements of the body and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
  • Adjust equipment and calm patients to eliminate test artifacts.
  • Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
  • Review tests with peers and physicians.
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures.
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair.
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.
  • Clinical Nuclear Medicine Technologist background with a minimum of 3 years PET and SPECT clinical experience required.
  • CA Licensure or eligible to attain.
  • Valid ARRT (CT) required, ARRT (N) OPTIONAL.
  • NMTCB required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Professional communication skills both written and verbal needed.
    • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner.
    • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
