Global Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our International Sales Group at Reed Exhibitions. As a Global Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with North American companies to help them grow their business through exports.
Your primary goal will be to create a strong pipeline of clients through cold calls, competitive events, and networking. You will also manage a portfolio of 5-10 events across multiple industries and regularly report progress to management.
Travel will be a significant part of this role, with both local and global travel required to develop relationships and sales opportunities with prospects and clients. You will also build, manage, and maintain relationships with overseas colleagues and internal clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong consultative sales track record, with experience in digital sales and the ability to connect with C-level decision makers. You will be an entrepreneurial spirit with a solution-based approach, able to drive new business opportunities through prospecting and managing to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a strong pipeline of clients through cold calls, competitive events, and networking
- Manage a portfolio of 5-10 events across multiple industries and regularly report progress to management
- Travel locally and globally to develop relationships and sales opportunities with prospects and clients
- Build, manage, and maintain relationships with overseas colleagues and internal clients
- Develop relationships with industry associations and relevant government agencies
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years' experience in sales or digital sales background
- Cultural awareness, proactivity, follow-through, accountability, flexibility, leadership qualities, and organization
- Fluency in other languages is helpful but not required
- Travel both domestic and international required (30% approx.)
