Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Technical Specialist to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on structural engineering projects throughout the regional Command.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical structural engineering expertise on design, design review, construction, and rehabilitation of a diverse range of projects.
  • Lead others in achieving objectives and milestones for a structural engineering program throughout a regional Command.
  • Apply technical engineering expertise to solve highly challenging and complicated issues and problems requiring new applications or developments.
  • Provide consultative services on structural engineering issues and the entire range of architectural and engineering activities for facilities construction.
Requirements
  • Must currently be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a state, the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
