Position Overview:

BGE College Recruiting is in search of an Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Services division.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive studies and assessments to prepare detailed reports and applications for environmental permits supporting diverse construction initiatives across multiple sectors.
  • Gather, analyze, manage, and present ecological data, including plant classification, protected species of both terrestrial and aquatic environments, soil conditions, and hydrological indicators essential for delineating wetland boundaries.
  • Effectively communicate scientific and technical findings to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Review and evaluate environmental documentation, permits, and associated materials.
  • Assist both public and private sector clients with the coordination, acquisition, and compliance of necessary permits.
  • Prepare thorough reports on field assessments, permit application submissions, and wetland mitigation strategies.
  • Collect relevant project data through research, conducting surveys for protected species, engaging with governmental agencies, landowners, and clients, reviewing resource maps, and performing field investigations related to wetlands and land use.
  • Familiarity with the Clean Water Act Regulatory Program and the Endangered Species Act as they pertain to environmental permitting is advantageous.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, rangeland sciences, wildlife management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing capabilities.
  • Excellent time-management, written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within team environments and build strong relationships across various teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork for extended periods, often in challenging weather conditions, including traversing rugged terrain and carrying equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
