Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a qualified Environmental Scientist I to support our Environmental Compliance Service Line. This role primarily involves assisting with air permitting and reporting project tasks under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze technical process information and prepare air-related deliverables for clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of air registrations, permits, and other necessary submissions required by regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in or lead environmental audits.
  • Conduct ambient air monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities on assigned projects.
  • Compile air emissions inventories.
  • Evaluate complex manufacturing and chemical processes to identify emission sources.
  • Research and interpret relevant regulations to determine applicability.
  • Assist with air dispersion modeling using appropriate platforms.
  • Engage with clients as needed during project execution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science/engineering, chemistry, geology, biology, or a related field.
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and compliance with auto insurability requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher).
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • Completing applications for air permits by rule or permit exemptions.
    • Executing air emissions inventories.
    • Supporting minor New Source Review air permits.
    • Operating geographic data collection and scientific data collection equipment.

Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly, work collaboratively in a team environment, and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and driving short or long distances. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Work Environment:
The work environment is typically a business office with moderate noise levels. Flexibility to work irregular hours may be necessary to accommodate client needs.
