Job Summary

This is a Non-exempt position with the Colville Tribes. The incumbent will drive a passenger van or equivalent vehicle to transport clients between locations using an established schedule and on special trips by dispatch or prior arrangement. The successful candidate will provide handyman services to assist elders in maintaining independence and residency in their own homes, deliver meals, perform minor yard maintenance and chore services, and work cooperatively with co-workers, clients, and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, repetitive tasks, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Assist passengers with limited mobility and lift passenger ambulatory aids such as wheelchairs onto platforms.
  • Use hand tools, such as a pick, shovel, lawnmower, axe, chainsaw, cart/wheelbarrow, and wood splitter.
  • Function in a vehicle and outdoors engaged in work of a moderately active nature.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent plus three to six (3-6) months of experience.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and to be eligible for Tribe's vehicle insurance.
  • Requires a Food Handler's Card, First Aid and CPR card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Requires a TB test with negative result.
  • Must have a healthy lifestyle for the past three years and maintain alcohol and drug abuse free throughout employment.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a vehicle and outdoors engaged in work of a moderately active nature.
  • Assist passengers with limited mobility and lift passenger ambulatory aids such as wheelchairs onto platforms.
  • Use hand tools, such as a pick, shovel, lawnmower, axe, chainsaw, cart/wheelbarrow, and wood splitter.
