Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Attorney to join our team at Kosmos. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our business operations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, briefs, and motions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other business-related documents.
  • Represent Kosmos in court proceedings and negotiations, providing expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Assist senior attorneys with case management and trial preparation, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop legal strategies and solutions, leveraging expertise and experience.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documents, ensuring seamless access and retrieval.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and professional codes of conduct, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar (or willingness to become admitted).
  • Strong academic record, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases and software.
  • Previous experience in a legal setting (internship, clerkship, etc.) is a plus.
