POSITION SUMMARY:

This critical role involves the onsite evaluation and upkeep of EV charging stations, encompassing site safety, electrical system maintenance and repair, field reporting, and additional responsibilities necessary to ensure the site operates within contractual obligations. The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision and be prepared to operate in diverse field conditions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades to a wide array of equipment, including Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers and DC Fast Chargers.
  • Assess interoperability of EV Chargers (Level 2 and 3 DC Fast Chargers) with vehicles and backend systems. Generate test reports and effectively communicate issues and required corrective actions to relevant parties.
  • Perform acceptance testing for firmware and software updates. Create test reports and provide training on new features and product releases.
  • Execute testing on equipment, including insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imaging, torque assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Diagnose system performance issues and identify ground faults.
  • Review site manuals and schematics to ensure proper servicing and maintenance of equipment.
  • Engage in fieldwork, including electrical and mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance of site equipment, field reporting, work order completion, and other necessary tasks.
  • Document all site issues in the work order system and ensure timely resolution.
  • Work independently and adhere to deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in servicing electrical power equipment within the commercial or utility energy sectors, or formal electrical training.
  • Proficient electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power systems, or other relevant power electronics is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for generating, tracking, and fulfilling site work requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently with a strong focus on results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool, or climb, and use fingers and hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, printers, and photocopiers.
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets.

Pay: $26 to $30 per hour

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
