Job Summary:
We are seeking a Per Diem Patient Experience Representative to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a Patient Experience Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients and families receive exceptional care and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Encounter Management:
- Provide positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices
- Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
- Schedule patients and support the patient encounter
- Check In / Check Out:
- Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors
- Monitor daily schedule and coordinate flow with clinicians/supervisor
- Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing record of transactions in Hospital systems
- Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling
- Administrative:
- Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, initiate calls for emergency services
- Provide routine clerical support as needed
- Admin support for Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers
- Reconcile patient charts during admissions and discharges
- Update and reconcile the Patient Monitoring System upon admission, discharges, and transfers
Requirements:
- A high school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
