Outreach Educator

Pacific Science Center is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Outreach Educator to join our Science on Wheels team. As an Outreach Educator, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive science programs to schools and community events across Washington state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver hands-on science programs for K-8th grade students, focusing on astronomy, engineering, chemistry, physics, and human and animal biology.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community leaders to coordinate Science on Wheels visits, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for students and educators.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of science programs, materials, and exhibits, ensuring they are inclusive, culturally relevant, and accessible to all learners.
  • Represent Pacific Science Center's mission and values, embodying the spirit of curiosity and real-world STEM experiences, and promoting equity and justice for all learners.
  • Travel to program locations, including overnight stays, to deliver programs and engage with diverse audiences.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 months of experience working with youth in an educational setting.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with 5 years of driving experience and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent customer service skills and a passion for science education.
