Building Science Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Science Consultant to join our team at Morrison Hershfield. As a key member of our Building Specialty Services group, you will play a critical role in delivering expertise that empowers designers to create high-performing buildings without compromising budget or function.
Responsibilities- Perform project contract drawing reviews, including drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submittals, and other relevant documents.
- Attend pre-construction meetings and document discussions to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review and report on project mock-ups to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct periodic site visits and utilize a site visit reporting system to identify and update action items.
- Perform field testing to confirm building enclosure performance, including water, air leakage, EFVM, and infrared testing.
- Manage and coordinate small and large projects, including preparing proposals and establishing project financial budgets.
- Conduct business development to secure revenue-generating projects and clients.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Perform various office-related tasks to support the team's success.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in building science consultation or equivalent knowledge of building envelope systems.
- Organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projects.
- Project management experience and ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong customer service commitment, excellent communication and documentation skills, and a professional attitude.
- Pursuing registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is a plus.

Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is $87,000 to $110,000, based on factors such as location, experience, future potential, education, skills, and internal equity.
