Position Overview
As the Principal Visualization Supervisor, you will be instrumental in realizing our artistic vision. Your expertise will guide the visual direction of projects, ensuring that the final output aligns with the creative goals established by the team.
We seek a dynamic, detail-oriented leader with a strong creative and technical background, dedicated to fostering an environment of continuous improvement. The Principal Visualization Supervisor will uphold the highest standards within the department, ensuring all tasks are executed with precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Director, VFX Supervisor, and other creative leads to produce effective Previs/Postvis for pivotal sequences.
- Manage production timelines by working in tandem with the Production team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Work with the Production team to create and maintain an accurate production timeline.
- Accurately interpret and implement specific client directives.
- Engage with pipeline and engineering teams to enhance tools and workflows.
- Facilitate effective communication across various teams, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
- Support talent development and encourage professional growth within the team.
- Provide creative insights and technical solutions during review sessions to enhance sequence continuity and coherence.
Qualifications:
- Possess the skills of a Senior Previs Artist/Animation Lead and demonstrate proficiency in commonly used software.
- Exhibit professionalism in interactions with both team members and clients.
- Adhere to the highest standards of security and confidentiality.
- Inspire team members, provide constructive feedback, set clear goals and deadlines, and focus on continuous personal and team improvement.
- Demonstrate strong creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Assist in the training and skill development of artists.
- Learn to support shot production bidding alongside the Visualization Producer and Head of Visualization.
- Understand filmmaking practices and terminology thoroughly.
- Exhibit exceptional creativity in sequence design and staging.
- Be capable of basic editing to ensure sequence coherence when necessary.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hold an Associate degree in computer animation or possess equivalent experience.
- If lacking formal qualifications, have over 8 years of experience in a Visualization company or department.
- Proficient in relevant software tools such as Windows, Maya, Unreal, After Effects, and Premiere.
- Must be creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and committed to ongoing improvement.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to receive feedback and collaborate within a team environment.
- Measure of Success/Key Performance Indicators: Ability to maintain project schedules and ensure client satisfaction.
