**Job Overview**

We're seeking an experienced Visual Effects Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and implementation of high-quality visual effects across our projects. This role requires collaboration with our Art Manager and Art Director to execute and enhance our visual style.

**Responsibilities**

  • Art Style and Visual Effects: Work closely with the Director of Art Management and Art Director to set the artistic direction and craft real-time visual effects that exceed expectations.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with production teams to establish project timelines, milestones, and ensure timely delivery. Maintain project tracking within Jira and generate reports for internal and stakeholder review.
  • Research and Development: Research emerging trends and technologies in visual effects and collect reference materials to maintain our high visual standards.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create technical documentation and guides for other artists to ensure consistency and quality in our visual effects.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with graphic engineers to develop new technologies and improve existing ones to enhance visual effects quality. Collaborate with design and gameplay teams to create visual effects that support gameplay systems.
  • Visual Effects Pipeline: Oversee the entire visual effects pipeline, from concept to final polished result, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

**Requirements**

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in visual effects, with at least 1 shipped AAA title or equivalent work in a related field.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized with excellent multitasking and adaptability skills.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant software, including Unity, Houdini, Photoshop, After Effects, and Maya, as well as good drawing skills.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and inspiring internal VFX teams and supervising outsource VFX partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mobile and PC game development experience.
  • Passion for games and knowledge of the games industry.
  • Expert understanding of Unity's Shuriken particle systems, Timelines, and Animation systems.
  • Expert understanding of Unity's component architecture and prefabs.
  • Working knowledge of script behaviors and custom components.
  • Expert understanding of material, texture, mesh, and particle manipulation using particles, vertex streams, and custom data.
  • Expert knowledge of shader creation and optimization specifically for mobile devices.

**Salary**

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
