Lead Environment Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Environment Artist to join our team at Skybound Entertainment. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for creating stunning environments, materials, and lighting effects for our upcoming game project.
Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of environment artists to ensure high-quality assets are delivered on time.
- Collaborate with the art director, prop artists, animation team, and external vendors to create immersive environments that meet performance and functionality requirements.
- Develop and maintain environment pipelines, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality results.
- Drive innovation and excellence in environment art, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in game development.
- Provide clear guidance and feedback to team members, ensuring consistency and quality in all assets.
- Work closely with the art director to ensure alignment with the game's overall vision and artistic direction.
- 5+ years of experience in console or PC games as a senior environment artist, with at least one shipped title.
- 2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Artist portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating high-quality assets using Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter.
- Experience creating physically based materials and lighting effects.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and work efficiently within a game pipeline.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Experience building environments in Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with asset tracking tools like Perforce and JIRA.
- Experience with real-time, physically based lighting.
- Experience creating destructible assets.
- Experience reviewing and providing feedback to internal teams and outsource vendors.
