Job Title: Internal Controls Evaluator (Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Hybrid

Compensation: $45/hr - $65/hr

We are looking for a skilled Internal Controls Evaluator to join our dynamic team. This position focuses on assessing and enhancing internal control frameworks, particularly in the areas of Real Property and Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E). The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in federal financial oversight and accounting, with a willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess Supporting Documentation: Conduct thorough reviews and validations of essential documentation to support data elements for revaluation.
  • Perform Process Evaluations: Execute in-depth assessments of Real Property procedures, including acquisitions, physical inspections, and disposals.
  • Identify and Resolve Control Gaps: Recognize deficiencies in existing processes and controls, and recommend and implement effective corrective measures.
  • Create Detailed Documentation: Develop comprehensive reports and documentation based on evaluations to support recommendations and enhance existing records.
  • Design and Deliver Training: Create educational materials and conduct training sessions for personnel across various regions.
  • Collaborate on Improvement Strategies: Partner with facilities to formulate and execute improvement plans based on identified weaknesses.
  • Research and Propose Best Practices: Investigate and recommend best practices for ongoing management of Real Property post-evaluation.
Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management, or relevant certifications such as CPA, CISA, PMP, CGFM, or CDFM.
  • Experience: At least 4 years in federal financial management and 2 years in federal accounting.
  • Expertise in Internal Controls: Proven experience in evaluating and enhancing internal control frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Balance Sheet/Real Property: Strong understanding of financial accounting principles related to Real Property and PP&E.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Educational and Certification Background: Master’s Degree in relevant fields or certifications such as CPA, CISA, PMP, CGFM, or CDFM.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in federal financial management and 3 years in federal accounting.
  • CPA Requirement: A significant portion of senior personnel must hold a current CPA license.
