Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at Stony Brook University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic Ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all Ultrasound Imaging techniques and examinations, including Abdominal, Retroperitoneal, Obstetrics and Gynecological, Carotid, Vascular Small Parts, and intra-cavity exams.
  • Communicate results of diagnostic examinations to the radiologist.
  • Float to all off-sites as needed.
  • Participate in call/On-Call/Recall as required.
  • Work holidays and weekends as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a program in Ultrasound Technology.
  • ARDMS or ARRT Certification.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Computer knowledge preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
