The Cardiac Sonographer provides high-quality patient care utilizing the skills and knowledge of the profession. This role involves performing echocardiograms and Vascular Ultrasound in accordance with established practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize the quality of ultrasound images.
- Positions patients on examination tables for optimum testing procedures and conditions.
- Explains procedures in easy-to-understand terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patient anxiety.
- Ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate care.
- Maintains infection control precautions and identifies potential infection control problems.
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities within the Department.
- Conforms to policies and regulations governing patient rights and confidentiality of information.
- High School Diploma
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Associates Degree with completion of ultrasound program
- 2 years related experience in an Outpatient Practice setting
