About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director, Systems Test Engineering to join our team at Terran Orbital. As a leader in the satellite industry, we are committed to innovation, manufacturing, and operations excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Test Engineers, processes, and procedures to support module and vehicle production.
  • Develop and implement technical and cost proposals to drive affordability and standardize procedures.
  • Work closely with other functional leadership to identify organizational staffing and capital requirements.
  • Manage consistency across the discipline, ensuring reuse, standard tools, and training/skill development.
  • Develop metrics and performance calculations using production schedule metrics and inputs.
  • Identify gaps and forecast potential issues to module delivery plans and schedules.
  • Apply root cause analysis skills to drive improvement.
  • Coordinate and execute site-level initiatives with other members of the Operations Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related technical discipline.
  • 15 years of leadership experience leading programs, projects, and personnel.
  • 15 years of Production/Systems related experience with high proficiency in technical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated production and manufacturing leadership experience, preferably with experience in Space Flight hardware, R&D, or Advanced Systems.
  • Proven competence in managing day-to-day operations of a multi-team site, including task organization, staff development, cost, and schedule management.
  • Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement.
  • Strong project management, budget management, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in process definition, development, deployment, and improvement.
  • Proven exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation.
Additional Differentiators
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software, such as MS Project.
  • Active or current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and TS level access.
  • Hands-on technical experience with Spacecraft or satellite-related systems.
  • Experience transitioning products from development to production.
  • Experience with hardware and manufacturing organizations.
  • Adept with Agile methodology, concepts, and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Assembly processes, integration processes, systems engineering practices, Test, quality, and configuration management systems.
