This team is a cohesive unit responsible for crafting vehicle flight control laws for both the Primary Flight Control System and the Automatic Flight Control System of a highly sophisticated air vehicle.

In this position, your primary responsibilities will include the design and evaluation of flight control law functions that encompass both rotorcraft-like and fixed-wing-like flight control mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define performance, integrity, and availability requirements for Fly-By-Wire (FBW) flight control functions.
  • Develop verification tests to validate flight control functions against established requirements.
  • Design and assess flight control law functions for both primary and automatic flight control systems.
  • Conduct verification tests for flight control law functions, analyze results, and document findings.
  • Assist in flight testing of flight control law functions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in the aerospace sector in a comparable role.
  • 7-10+ years of expertise in fixed-wing or rotorcraft control law design, analysis, and testing within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink.
  • A comprehensive understanding of classical and modern control system theories and their practical applications in design.
  • Familiarity with frequency domain concepts and their application in aircraft flight control design.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline; a Master's or Doctorate Degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of feedback and feedforward control architectures and their practical applications.
  • A thorough understanding of rotorcraft and/or fixed-wing flight dynamics, including stability and control principles and handling qualities criteria.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze engineering analyses and test results.
  • A strong desire to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IBM DOORS is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with aircraft certification processes with FAA, EASA, TCCA, or other global certification authorities is preferred.
  • Experience with highly integrated system development in accordance with SAE guidance ARP-4754A is preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems compliant with RTCA standards applicable to aircraft development, such as DO-160, DO-254, DO-178, DO-331 is preferred.

Project Duration: Multi-year engagement (2-5+ years)
