Job Description

This is an administrative support position that plays a crucial role in the success of the Iowa Conservation partnership. The position is employed by Conservation Districts of Iowa but receives day-to-day oversight from the USDA-NRCS Resource Team Leader.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and maintaining records related to NRCS conservation programs and the day-to-day business and office processes of the partnership. This includes drafting letters, answering phone calls, scanning documents, and filing in proper electronic and paper files.

The position also involves utilizing NRCS Business Tools to record conservation decisions, assisting with data entry related to conservation program contracting, and maintaining/assisting with farm/tract records in each of the field offices located within the resource team.

Additionally, the administrative support specialist will be responsible for managing and organizing the RTL schedule, assisting with making appointments, returning calls, and scheduling farm visits as needed. They will also receive and complete requests for statistical or informative material regarding NRCS programs and advise technical staff of need for information.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and skill in using Microsoft software such as Access, Excel, Front Page, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. They will also learn to use agency-specific software, SharePoint, and other web-based tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
