POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Product Strategist collaborates with essential stakeholders to shape the vision for departmental technology offerings. As a vital member of an Agile team, this role is responsible for crafting a strategic roadmap for the product(s), interpreting business requirements, and guiding the Agile team towards the product's objectives. The individual is a domain expert who employs sophisticated judgment to foster effective results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to establish the product vision and effectively communicates this vision to the Agile team and the broader organization. Acts as the main liaison between stakeholders and the team, leveraging feedback mechanisms to ensure ongoing information exchange.
  • Implements the product roadmap, outlining the product's direction over the medium to long term.
  • Cultivates alignment with key stakeholders to gain support for the product roadmap and ensures ongoing validation of features and user stories.
  • Develops product release schedules and sets expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
  • Ensures the development team comprehends backlog items sufficiently, plans iterations, and confirms that user stories meet established standards.
  • Maintains clear acceptance criteria that guide the team in producing completed increments, ensuring a consistent definition of "done".
  • Proactively manages external dependencies and obstacles that may affect the team's ability to achieve Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Engages in scrum ceremonies (Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective) as well as long-term planning activities (Road Mapping, Release Planning).
  • Continuously enhances knowledge of systems, products, and industry trends.
  • Participates in the internal Product Owner Community of Practice to share knowledge, skills, and ideas with colleagues across the organization.
  • Collaborates with the Scrum Master to manage within budgetary constraints.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required (Master's degree preferred).
  • 6-8+ years of experience in the financial services or technology sector.
  • Strong comprehension of the product and the business's requirements.
  • Familiarity with crafting effective user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to engage and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience as a Product Owner within an Agile team is preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is preferred.
  • Seismic Certified Administrator and/or Workfront System Administrator Certification is a plus.
