Position Summary

The Maintenance Custodian Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our facilities. This position involves executing routine cleaning duties, performing minor repairs, and conducting maintenance tasks to ensure the building remains in optimal condition. Responsibilities include managing waste disposal, replenishing supplies, and reporting maintenance issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working autonomously to uphold a clean and secure environment for both staff and visitors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular cleaning activities, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and shared spaces.
  • Manage waste disposal and replace trash liners.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Notify supervisors of significant maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping walkways and removing debris.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Secure the building by locking doors and windows as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to cleaning or maintenance requests from staff.
  • Organize and maintain a tidy storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and fixing leaks.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician, custodian, or in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy items, up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to operate and utilize cleaning equipment effectively.
  • Basic maintenance skills, including minor repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors.

Compensation: Hourly pay based on experience and skills, to be discussed during the interview.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Overtime may be required.

Additional Requirements: Candidates must be able to undergo a drug screening and background check prior to employment.
