POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager to lead our Specialty Pharmacy Services division. This role will involve providing strategic guidance and leadership for all specialty pharmacy services at client locations. Key responsibilities encompass overseeing operational, financial, programmatic, clinical, and personnel functions to ensure outstanding patient care and customer satisfaction. The Pharmacy Manager will evaluate the performance and outcomes of the pharmacy team, adapting plans and priorities as necessary to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions will be made in accordance with established policies, procedures, and organizational priorities, with support from Visante leadership on critical decisions.

Moreover, this position entails monitoring quality metrics and advancing clinical, financial, and operational practices, as well as formulating action plans for ongoing improvement. The Pharmacy Manager will supervise clinical pharmacy processes and provide direction to clinical staff regarding protocols, decision-making, and patient care delivery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role is primarily on-site with some flexibility for remote work as scheduled. Minimal travel is expected.

WORK SCHEDULE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain essential processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and service.
  • Assess operational performance and propose and implement enhancements for effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on operational and regulatory changes impacting specialty pharmacy services.
  • Lead operational functions across the specialty pharmacy program, including:
    • Marketing strategies
    • Prescription management
    • Contract pharmacy agreements
    • Policy development and execution
    • Accreditation processes
    • Clinical service delivery
    • Medication access initiatives
    • Call center operations
    • Dispensing protocols
    • Licensing and compliance obligations
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of prescription billing and reimbursement, serving as a resource for billing inquiries.
  • Oversee procurement of medications and supplies, ensuring proper record-keeping according to established standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations regarding medication processes.
  • Supervise daily activities that promote continuous quality improvement in patient care.
  • Monitor and address medication errors and implement substance monitoring programs.
  • Understand and uphold specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, ensuring necessary accreditations are achieved and maintained.
  • Lead Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational effectiveness.
  • Act as an Operational and/or Clinical Pharmacist as needed to support daily operations.
  • Assess and implement operational changes to strengthen pharmacy programs.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
  • Provide administrative leadership in the absence of the site-specific Director of Pharmacy.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards and organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or B.S. Pharmacy required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience required.
  • Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) and/or PGY2 Residency preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Washington State Board of Pharmacy licensure required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required within six months of hire.
SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and understand issues and opportunities.
  • Effective decision-making abilities based on available data and constraints.
