Job Summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk III/Production Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our business operations team, you will be responsible for compiling and recording production data, analyzing financial reports, and providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques.
  • Calculate production metrics, including types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates.
  • Prepare written production reports based on data compiled, tabulated, and computed, following prescribed formats.
  • Maintain files of documents used and prepared, and compile detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products.
  • Prepare written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities, and compile material inventory records and requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies.
  • Chart production using charts, graphs, or pegboards based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel.
  • Sort and distribute work tickets or material, and compute wages from employee timecards and post wage data on records used for the preparation of payroll.
  • Provide direction and assistance to applicable shops for scheduling, resource accountability, and closeout of facilities and infrastructure work orders and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Provide customer interface for receiving service calls in person, telephonically, or electronically.
  • Keep track of all assigned work documents and provide up-to-date status to assigned shops and the work management system (Maximo).
  • Perform one or more accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Work In Progress reports, Estimate to Complete, posting to registers and ledgers, balancing and reconciling accounts, verifying the internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents.
Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a similar type role supporting business operations to gain the knowledge, skills, and expertise to successfully perform the requirements of the position.
  • Specialized experience supporting various financial management functions, such as accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • May require a security clearance up to the Secret level.
  • Knowledge of the government contracting environment is preferred.
  • Exemplary communication skills, written and oral, to provide excellent customer service to internal/external client base.
  • Strong computer proficiency to include MS Office (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Data entry skills and accuracy utilizing various databases/software are required.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a team, or alone, and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.

  • Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.

  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, organized, and must be detail-oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access government worksite.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
