Job Title: Senior Technical Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic team at The Washington Post. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, from conceptualization to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timeline creation, and risk assessment.
  • Possess a deep understanding of technical concepts and methodologies, enabling you to provide valuable insights and make informed decisions.
  • Assemble and manage high-performing project teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external vendors, effectively communicating project progress and addressing concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure projects meet defined standards and deliver optimal outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency by identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Technical Project Manager.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex cross-functional technical projects.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Knowledge of methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate project teams.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $98,600.00 USD Annual

Disclaimer: The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
