Government Contracts Specialist Intern

Molina Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Government Contracts Specialist Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of government healthcare programs and the ability to coordinate, conduct, and respond to research requests. As a Government Contracts Specialist Intern, you will be responsible for working on special projects, including research projects, coordination and tracking of projects/initiatives, generating and quality review of state reports, and reviewing information received from government contracting agencies and regulators. You will also participate in meetings related to Molina government-run programs and document, track, and disseminate relevant information to staff and management. Additionally, you will support the maintenance of department documents within GC Share Point.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, conduct, and respond to research requests pertaining to government healthcare programs.
- Work on special projects, including research projects, coordination and tracking of projects/initiatives, generating and quality review of state reports.
- Review information received from government contracting agencies and regulators and disseminate to impacted Plan staff.
- Participate in meetings related to Molina government-run programs and document, track, and disseminate relevant information to staff and management.
- Support the maintenance of department documents within GC Share Point.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess clear and professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You will also need to have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and have the ability to develop relationships. Additionally, you should have good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Computer experience, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and experience with internet research are also required. Furthermore, you must have excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
Education
Candidates must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program as a current freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and pursuing a Bachelor's degree with preference in the following areas - Business Administration/Management, Health Policy, Project Management, and related degrees. Additionally, candidates must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
