We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our team at Behavioral Health Services of VA. As a QMHP, you will play a critical role in delivering mental health services to individuals requiring support.
Key Responsibilities- Implement treatment plans based on individual needs, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized approach to care.
- Attend weekly supervision and team meetings to stay informed and aligned with program goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, adhering to all state and federal regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Provide direct care to program participants, including assessment, treatment, and support.
- Progress notes and assist with gathering information for assessment, ensuring a thorough understanding of client needs.
- Maintain a caseload of multiple clients, prioritizing their needs and providing timely interventions.
- Reduce the risk of out-of-home placement or assist in the return from out-of-home placement, promoting stability and well-being.
- Attend weekly supervision with the Clinical Supervisor, receiving guidance and support.
- Demonstrate an awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences of clients and fellow employees.
- Utilize approved skills curriculum with youth, adults, and families to help improve behavior, promoting positive outcomes.
- Keep the family and team members informed on progress toward achieving Service/Treatment Plan goals, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation of all services, contacts, and collaboration with clients, families, and community partners.
- Provide or secure support and crisis/emergency services for the youth, adult, and family by phone contact or in-person, ensuring timely interventions.
- Maintain all client documentation in the electronic record system, adhering to requirements set forth in all state and federal rules and regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned, supporting the overall mission and goals of Behavioral Health Services of VA.
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a human services-related field required.
- Must hold current registration as a QMHP from the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
- At least one year of experience providing mental health services (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
