About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Operations Technology Engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing our next-generation networks.

Our networks are used by hundreds of thousands of associates worldwide and play a critical role in the delivery of shipments to Amazon retail customers. We are looking for a talented engineer who is comfortable with making data-driven decisions and iterating on designs to deliver robust systems that elegantly scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop next-generation networks to support an ecosystem of robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices.
  • Provide technical thought leadership in the design of our networks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Drive root cause resolution of network events that impact the business and provide guidance to network support teams to develop their skills and reinforce best practices.
About the Team

The OTIE Ops & Reliability Team has broad scope supporting multiple business units globally, from the smallest delivery stations in emerging markets to the most advanced automated fulfillment centers in North America, Japan, and Europe.

This is a unique opportunity to grow your skills as an engineer, have a lasting impact on Amazon's fulfillment networks, and work on a variety of short-term innovation and long-term strategic projects.

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience.
