Job Title: Chef | Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Enlivant. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality meals are prepared and presented to our residents. You will work closely with our dining staff to maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, and ensure compliance with state and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Prepare and present high-quality meals to our residents, taking into account individual dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, ensuring all work and storage areas are clean and free of hazards.
  • Manage resident food preferences by capturing feedback from residents and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of culinary experience.
  • Possess a High School diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrate understanding of state sanitation codes.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly and do occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • The ability to stand for at least 80% of the scheduled shift.
  • The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, and work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with dining services in a Chef, Cook, Sous Chef, or Dietary Aide role.
  • Restaurant, food service, or banquet experience helpful.
  • Experience in a senior living or skilled nursing culinary environment a plus.
  • Hospitality and supervisory experience a plus.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills.
  • ServSafe Managers Certificate (obtain within 90 days of employment).
