Financial Controller

Vast is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller & Compliance Manager to oversee our finances and compliance program, with a particular focus on SOC 2 compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape both the financial strategy and compliance culture of our organization while working directly with the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities:- Compliance Management (60% of role):
- Develop and maintain internal frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks.
- Coordinate with vendors and auditors to ensure ongoing SOC 2 compliance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide compliance policies and procedures.
- Manage and respond to vendor compliance requests and questionnaires.
- Conduct regular compliance training for employees.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes affecting the company and industry.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Manage the accounting team and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management.
- Cryptocurrency accounting:
- Track and report on crypto sales gateways.
- Stay current with evolving crypto accounting standards and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT compliance, with a focus on SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
- Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work across departments.
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday.
