Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of patient rooms, auxiliary rooms, and other areas throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, and waiting areas using proper cleaning guidelines and procedures.
  • Clean and maintain floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection-control policies.
  • Clean glass interior windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms, and fixtures.
  • Clean tables and dining areas.
  • Replenish paper towels, soap, and toilet paper within the facility.
  • Handle and dispose of waste using standard procedures.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies according to prescribed standards.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in ensuring the daily work is completed.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in training new employees in proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPI certification obtained within 60 days of hire.
Knowledge and Experience
  • High school level reading and writing skills.
  • Two years of housekeeping experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and disinfectant products.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.

  • Ability to follow all applicable sanitation and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Walk, push, pull, lift, carry objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally from position to position or otherwise move objects.
  • Feel sizes, shapes, temperatures, and textures by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.
  • Express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly.
  • Minimum standard of hearing ranges.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently.
  • Minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction.
  • While the worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes, the worker is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as the work is predominantly inside.
