About the Role

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our integrated product team, you will participate in multi-disciplinary work across various engineering disciplines, including Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and missile-and-sensor-level Performance Simulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-fidelity simulations and models for missile design, performance assessment, and flight test support
  • Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies, and evaluate system and subsystem performance
  • Work in a team environment, receiving inputs from team supervisors and providing guidance and/or direction to other team members
  • Collaborate with GNC, Signal Processing, and other department personnel to perform simulation activities
  • Work on diverse projects, determine, and develop approaches and solutions, and provide development guidance throughout the product lifecycle from initial concept to fielded product
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and five (5) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
  • Experience programming in C, C++, or other high-order language and experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
  • Experience developing or simulating physical systems
  • Academic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis for existing or proposed engineering solutions
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Leadership experience managing others using applied system engineering principals, experience working on a team and by yourself, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines, and developing and presenting technical briefings
  • Experience developing signal processing/GNC algorithms or models for missile applications
  • Experience with Control Hardware Design and Test, hardware/software integration, modeling physics, and physical systems as related to flight dynamics
  • Experience using UNIX/Linux-based workstations and using Software Configuration Management tools
  • Course work or experience in some of the following fields: radar, signal & image processing, radar and/or EO/IR environment models, digital communications, probability and statistics, linear algebra, estimation theory, optimal control, system architecture, inertial navigation, guidance theory
  • Current Department of Defense security clearance
