About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transit Bus Fleet Manager to join our team at Transdev in Williamsburg, VA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful management of our transit bus fleet, including administrative functions, information systems, parts purchasing, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a successful contract relationship with the client, ensuring compliance with all company procedures and policies.
  • Manage all aspects of the business at the location, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure services are provided within budget and develop action plans to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain company and contractual assets, including vehicles, facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC.
  • Analyze, prepare, and develop budgets and forecasts, and negotiate operating budgets and contractual terms with customers.
  • Assess resource needs, problems, and trends, and plan accordingly.
  • Develop action plans to ensure customer retention and provide leadership and guidance to develop location and company initiatives.
  • Establish training goals and requirements for all personnel and satisfy client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements and needs.
  • Assist in technical sales support and develop sales leads.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years transit fleet management/maintenance leadership experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in Business or related field strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and motivate highly effective teams.
  • Successful track record in managing budgets and/or P&L responsibility.
