Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead our Transit Bus Fleet team in Williamsburg, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the business, including contractual services, administrative functions, and fleet maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all contractual services, including administrative functions, information systems, parts purchasing, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies, including First Quality Management (FQM) requirements.
- Develop and implement action plans to improve operational efficiencies and ensure services are provided within budget.
- Maintain company and contractual assets, including vehicles, facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC.
- Analyze, prepare, and develop budgets and forecasts.
- Negotiate operating budgets and contractual terms with customers.
- Assess resource needs, problems, and trends and plan accordingly.
- Develop action plans to ensure customer retention.
- Assure a safe working environment.
- Provide and promote effective communications with customers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to develop location and company initiatives.
- Establish training goals and requirements for all personnel.
- Satisfy client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements and needs.
- Assist in technical sales support and develop sales leads.
- Minimum 5 years Transit fleet management/maintenance leadership experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must have evidence of building solid relationships with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams.
- Successful track record in managing budgets and/or P&L responsibility.
Transdev is proud to offer a competitive salary of $90,000 based on experience, as well as an attractive benefits package, including 401(k) with company contribution, medical, dental, and vision. We also offer paid time off and vacation.
