Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Ellenville Regional Hospital. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for performing patient registration and customer service functions, including collecting patient information and entering it into our electronic health records system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and record complete and accurate patient information for registration purposes
  • Recognize and respond to customer needs, providing excellent customer service and resolving patient issues in a timely manner
  • Function as the hospital's switchboard operator, answering phone calls and directing patients to the appropriate department
  • Obtain necessary signatures on consent forms for treatment and payment, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and hospital regulations
  • Communicate co-pay or deductible information to patients and collect payments as necessary
  • Promote cooperative relationships with other departments to enhance services to all customers
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, ability to manage time, and make decisions promptly
Requirements
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal relationship, and communication skills
