Job Overview

A highly skilled Propulsion Engineer is sought after to join the SpaceX team in Hawthorne, CA. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing additive manufacturing processes, with a focus on machine development, software, part design, and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience in hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and/or project management, preferably in the aerospace industry. A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required, while a master's degree in aeronautical, astronautical, or mechanical engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

* Design and develop additive manufacturing processes, including parameter development and process control
* Troubleshoot and repair machines as needed
* Collaborate with materials engineers to investigate properties, geometric accuracy, and surface finish results to develop optimal print parameters, heat treatments, and design allowable for existing and new alloys
* Develop and maintain systems to efficiently collect and analyze process data while minimizing collection/entry burden
* Develop and document best practices on new equipment and processes

Requirements

* Experience with operating additive machines, including parameter development and process control
* Experience with trouble shooting/repairing machines
