About the Job

We're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer - Avionics Wire Harness to join our SpaceX team. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you'll be responsible for implementing new wiring harness designs, ensuring quality control, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with design teams to implement new wiring harness designs into our manufacturing phase.
  2. Resolve production-related issues and drive process improvements to ensure quality control.
  3. Develop engineering documentation necessary for transitioning from development to production.
  4. Drive lean projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
  5. Prepare product and process reports by analyzing information and trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience modeling with 3D CAD software (e.g., NX/Unigraphics, Catia, Solidworks).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment within a recognized quality system (AS9100, ISO9001).
  • Experience working with automotive, aerospace, or marine harnessing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing engineering and manufacturing support for complex electronic products.
  • Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in NX/Unigraphics software.
  • Ability to interpret and create component and assembly drawings according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Experience designing tooling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Belt.
  • Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
  • Programming skills in Python, SQL, and web languages.
  • Experience working in fast-paced iterative design environments within various industries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, work order creation/management, and BOM structures.
