Behavior Consultant/QBHP Job Description

Gateway Pediatric Therapy is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Consultant/QBHP to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing support to Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in the case management of clinical cases, as well as managing your own day-to-day case management of assigned clinical cases.



Key Responsibilities

  • Create effective treatment plans for clients based on initial and ongoing evaluations, client needs, and best practices.
  • Maintain clinical requirements for client supervision, adhering to insurance company and community mental health organization guidelines, as well as Gateway policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor technicians on individual patient plan implementation and quality of treatment.
  • Collaborate with treatment staff to assist in case management and staff training and development.
  • Exercise discretion and independent management of client services and supervision of treatment protocols, aligning with Gateway policies and procedures.
  • Determine effective techniques for implementing treatment plan goals.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, designing and maintaining high-quality treatment programs that align with Gateway policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate and organized records, client notes, data, and reports for internal and external processes.
  • Engage parents and/or caretakers in parent training for relevant treatment techniques.
  • Prepare and attend client educational meetings, such as IEPs, and develop treatment recommendations.
  • Continuously work towards gaining board certification as a Behavior Analyst, as outlined by the Michigan Autism BHT/ABA Services Qualified Providers for Qualified Behavioral Health Professionals (QBHP).
  • Attend required trainings, conferences, and colloquium to remain in compliance with Gateway policies and procedures.
  • Maintain client privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Gateway policies and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively and courteously with internal staff and outside stakeholders, including school personnel and administration, outside service providers, and other individuals.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all client and staff interactions.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Director of Administrative Operations, and the Clinical or Regional/Territory Director, as well as supervising BCBAs on case-specific instances.
