Position Overview:

The role of the Medical Assistant within the Care Coach Connect Program involves a range of patient care activities, both in clinical settings and administrative tasks. This position is crucial in organizing the clinical environment and providing support during patient care interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant, including provider-supervised procedures, injections, diagnostic testing, and phlebotomy.
  • Coordinate healthcare screening results in accordance with provider directives and organizational policies.
  • Travel to various locations to support the delivery of healthcare services in community settings.
  • Conduct and complete quality program health screenings to meet required metrics.
  • Organize and process documentation accurately, ensuring all relevant parties are informed of patient results.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation in medical records as per company policy.
  • Review medical information and test results to ensure comprehensive data capture prior to patient discharge.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, ensuring availability and accuracy of stock.
  • Promptly present abnormal results to the provider to facilitate timely intervention.
  • Prepare clinical team charts for post-visit processing.
  • Ensure follow-up appointment details are documented and completed in the designated systems.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations at all times.
  • Keep certifications (MA and CPR) current and uphold quality control standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment and assist team members as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and assist with basic clinical procedures.
  • Support the development of care plans for review by Advanced Practice Clinicians.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration required, or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Current CPR certification or must obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and take initiative until higher-level clinicians arrive.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned market.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Reliable transportation for daily travel to various locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or a combination of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to push or pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Proficient in fine motor skills for operating equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions both verbally and in writing.
  • Logical reasoning skills for problem-solving.
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
