About the Community Support Therapist Role:

The Community Support Therapist will engage in intensive family and community-based interventions aimed at addressing the various factors contributing to significant behavioral challenges. This role emphasizes promoting positive behavior changes within the youth's natural surroundings, leveraging the strengths of each system to facilitate transformation. Services will be initiated for the youth and their families while the youth is still receiving care. This position is designed to support the successful reintegration of youth into their communities following their treatment.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Supervisor of Community Support Services.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week.

Compensation: Competitive salary range.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective, family-centered interventions aimed at fostering responsible behavior.
  • Collaborate with family members to establish clear objectives and actively pursue these goals through solution-focused strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive psycho-social assessments of participants and their families/significant others.
  • Engage in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, departmental meetings, and program activities.
  • Attend mandatory clinical supervision, consultation, and training sessions.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as needed.
  • Contribute to program evaluation processes, including documentation and monitoring of program data.
  • Maintain required documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize and implement tools from the Sanctuary Model to foster a nonviolent and trauma-informed environment.
  • Model the Sanctuary Model commitments to promote a safe and supportive culture.
  • Incorporate the Sanctuary Model SELF framework into daily practices to ensure high-quality care and a positive work atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work; LMSW required within a specified timeframe.
  • Flexibility to provide emergency coverage as necessary.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Capability to utilize public transportation for meetings and home visits.
  • Commitment to a strength-based, youth development, and trauma-informed approach.
  • Dedication to organizational models of practice that promote safety and well-being.
  • Physical ability to navigate stairs when elevators are unavailable.
