Vehicle System Test Engineering Intern

Your Role

As a Vehicle System Test Engineering Intern in Aptiv's Advanced Safety & User Experience team, you'll work on real-world projects to evaluate and validate state-of-the-art vehicle systems. From autonomous driving features to intuitive in-cabin interfaces, you'll have a hands-on role in testing the next generation of mobility technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive system-level testing of advanced safety systems, such as ADAS and user experience technologies.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of vehicle and lab tests for system validation.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to define test requirements and ensure thorough validation of complex vehicle functions.
  • Support data acquisition, analysis, and reporting of test results, identifying performance issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Operate and troubleshoot test equipment and tools, including in-vehicle data logging systems and simulation setups.
  • Contribute to real-world test scenarios, supporting vehicle-level integration and calibration of advanced safety features and driver interfaces.
  • Participate in troubleshooting sessions to identify and resolve system malfunctions or unexpected behaviors.
  • Present findings and recommendations to team members and project leaders.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Passion for vehicle systems and an interest in cutting-edge automotive technology.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify patterns.
  • Knowledge of automotive testing tools or experience in testing embedded systems is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools like MATLAB, Python, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • An eagerness to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
