Position Overview

The Senior Algorithm Engineer will focus on the innovation and implementation of algorithms tailored for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This role involves the creation of software utilizing both MATLAB-Simulink and C++ to facilitate lateral and longitudinal vehicle control functionalities, including Lane-Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), as well as L2+/L3 Hands-Free Autonomy.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in algorithm development utilizing MATLAB Simulink & Embedded Coder.
  • 1-3 years of experience in algorithm development with modern C++ (C++11 or later).
  • Familiarity with non-linear control strategies (MPC, LQR, etc.).
  • Proficient understanding of automotive serial data communication protocols (CAN, LIN, ETH).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies/frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the Software V-model.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with ADAS features.
  • Exposure to compliance standards (ISO-26262, ASPICE, AUTOSAR).
  • Proficient with configuration management and version control tools (JIRA, Polarion, Plastic, GitLab, etc.).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Vehicle Dynamics Modeling and State Estimation.
  • 2+ years of experience with dSPACE rapid prototyping hardware (MicroAutobox).
  • 2+ years of experience with ROS or equivalent POSIX-based Pub/Sub frameworks.
  • Experience with automotive calibration overlay tools and frameworks (XCP Protocol, ETAS INCA, ETAS xETK, Vector-CANape, Vector VX-1000).
  • Working knowledge of Automotive Electric Power Steering Actuators.
  • Working knowledge of Automotive Braking Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, implement, and validate ADAS algorithms using MATLAB-Simulink and/or C++.
  • Conduct in-vehicle rapid prototyping of innovative control algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal feature performance.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to advance product development.
  • Analyze defects and test outcomes to ensure KPI targets are met through root cause analysis and algorithm refinement.
  • Design and execute tests in various environments (SiL, HiL, in-vehicle) to assess system performance and reliability.
  • Work with systems engineers to assist in the creation and breakdown of requirements and test cases.
  • Support the design of comprehensive system architecture in collaboration with systems engineers.
  • Perform system tuning and develop calibration guidelines.
  • Adhere to established software development and documentation protocols.
