Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Learning Teacher to join our team at the Diocese of St. Augustine. As an Early Learning Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan and implement a culturally sensitive educational program that meets the needs of each child, based on their age and language.
  • Lesson Planning: Develop daily lesson plans that promote cognitive, verbal, social, emotional, and physical development, aligned with our approved curriculum.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of each child's progress.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment that encourages play, exploration, and learning.
  • Health and Safety: Conduct daily health checks, plan activities that promote healthy lifestyles, and follow policies and procedures for medical emergencies and medication administration.
  • Family Partnerships: Communicate with parents through regular meetings, progress reports, and conferences, and involve families in their child's education.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a child care setting is preferred.
  • Certifications: DCF 45-hour training, National CDA, and Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification are required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well with children and adults, and knowledge of child growth and development.
Working Conditions
