Position Overview

The role of the Program Security Specialist is integral to the management and oversight of special access programs (SAPs). This position demands a highly skilled security professional responsible for the administration, direction, and development of security protocols that exceed standard regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison with government entities concerning security matters related to assigned programs.
  • Report directly to the Director of Security, with additional reporting to the Assistant Director of Security as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation of security measures that comply with contractually mandated requirements.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in security management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a role such as a CPSO or industrial security specialist, specifically managing SAP-related programs.
  • Proficient in the application of 32 CFR Part 117 and NISPOM regulations.
  • Experience with security management systems such as JADE and Scattered Castles.
  • Knowledge of TEMPEST countermeasures and the ability to conduct assessments.
Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth understanding of DoD organizations and relevant security databases.
  • Ability to manage COMSEC accounts and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as it pertains to SAPs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
Employment Conditions

Must hold an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, with SCI eligibility preferred.

Additional Preferences
  • Completion of relevant security courses such as CDSE's Introduction to SAPs and Mid-Level Security Management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements

Must be capable of maintaining vigilance and attention to detail for extended periods, perform inspections, and respond to security alarms and emergencies as required.
