Position Overview:

The Front End Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products are efficiently processed, accurately rung up, and that customer issues are resolved promptly, fostering a culture of exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, trains, and evaluates cashiers and front-end staff, working collaboratively to enhance performance.
  • Implements safe operating procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Recommends personnel decisions including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Anticipates peak times to minimize customer wait times by developing effective staffing schedules.
  • Monitors compliance with loss prevention protocols during transactions.
  • Secures the front end by ensuring accurate information exchange among staff.
  • Supervises loaders in assisting customers and ensuring proper loading of products.
  • Conducts regular checks to ensure product integrity and security during loading.
  • Maintains adequate staffing and equipment for efficient checkout processes.
  • Ensures thorough checks of large items to uphold transaction accuracy.
  • Reviews and documents errors made by cashiers and loaders for training purposes.
  • Handles customer adjustments, returns, and voids to maintain smooth operations.
  • Keeps track of improperly labeled items for correction.
  • Monitors cashier responsibilities to ensure adherence to operational standards.
  • Addresses customer concerns promptly to maintain a positive shopping experience.
  • Engages with customers to gather feedback on service quality and product availability.
  • Maintains a log for new item requests to be reviewed regularly.
  • Ensures the availability of functional carts for customer convenience.
  • Monitors staff appearance and adherence to dress code policies.
  • Assigns additional tasks to staff during slower periods to maintain productivity.
  • Ensures supervisors conduct a minimum of five test checks daily.
  • Maintains the organization and integrity of front-end displays.
  • Ensures registers are stocked with necessary customer service materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of four years in customer service or a related field, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High level of interpersonal skills for managing sensitive situations.

  • Proficient in computer applications.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is typically room temperature, with variations based on store activity and seasonal changes.
