About The Learning Center for the Deaf:
We are a recognized leader in providing services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment that values diverse experiences and perspectives.

Role Summary:
This position is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of the Audiology Clinic. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service to patients, managing phone communications, scheduling appointments, and maintaining electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling for multiple audiologists and confirm next-day appointments.
  • Input patient demographic data accurately into the system.
  • Verify insurance information through verbal communication and online resources.
  • Assist with patient check-in, including copying insurance cards and collecting co-pays.
  • Prepare patient charts and necessary documentation for appointments.
  • Send reports and correspondence to patients and their medical providers.
  • Manage payment processing for private pay transactions and generate invoices.
  • Maintain a tidy front office area, including magazines and toys.
  • Ensure accurate and current patient records and referring physician databases.
  • Handle shipping tasks as required.
  • Perform general office support and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Uphold quality and customer service standards established by the Audiology Clinic.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for patients.
  • Strong phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Organized and motivated to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using office equipment and software, including Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing processes is a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with Audiology or Medical Records Software is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of performing all job-related duties, including lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
