Job Description

Trane Technologies is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing and facilities equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspection activities on manufacturing machinery and facilities.
  • Identify and repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures using root cause and fact-based troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct periodic quality and performance checks on equipment and systems to ensure they meet design specifications and OEM standards.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including landscaping, painting, and carpentry, as needed.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks, to move light to heavy weight materials.
  • Use lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTOTO Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required, including actively contributing to safety, quality, and productivity activities and improvements.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience preferred, with 3+ years of experience in maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including repair or replacement of pneumatic, hydraulic, or actuators, and understanding of torque specs.
  • Basic electrical skills, including experience with 120V/240V and signal voltage.
  • Comprehension of schematics/blueprints and ability to draw/sketch mechanical devices and small circuits.
  • Knowledge/experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Willingness to change, flex, and learn, and basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, measure, use a calculator).
  • Basic writing skills (writing notes legibly, forming numbers/numerals, understandable) and computer skills (filling in forms, logging in, navigating websites, etc.).
  • Experience using a CMMS (writing, retrieving, editing work orders, entering data, times, etc.) and managing spare parts usage, identifying, retrieving, documenting, and stocking when needed.
  • Follow and adhere to all safety, quality, and Trane Technologies policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.
  • Ability to stand/walk 8-10+ hours, bend, lift, reach, and turn throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs repeatably through the shift.
